Hello Shark Nation, this is Principal Tim Wombaker,
First of all, thank you to all the students and parents who stayed active and made progress during this "learning from a distance." Our teachers will be wrapping up their academic work with students this Friday, May 15th. Teachers will be updating grades and Infinite Campus is available for viewing. Please understand that grades will continue to be updated throughout next week and finalized by May 21st. We will mail report cards after all grades have been finalized.
Please understand that attendance is still required for students through next week as the last official day of school is May 21st. In order for the students to be present next week, we have created an exit survey that must be completed. Online students will be able to complete the survey that will be sent from one of their teachers. The offline students will be called next week to verbally answer the survey questions. 6th grade online students will be given the survey prior to Monday so they will still be able to turn in the Chromebooks.
School Chromebooks will be locked as of May 20th. So, we will be collecting Chromebooks and other school items, such as textbooks and library books next week. During this time, we will also be returning student items such as PE locker items, classroom projects, and other items. We will be handing out Yearbooks to those students who have ordered and paid for them. You will also be able to purchase a yearbook for $50 cash or money order only, sorry, checks are not accepted. We will attempt to complete all of this without you even leaving your vehicle. We will practice safety protocols, keep social distancing, and make this process as smooth and effective as possible. Please follow this schedule, of time and location, for the drop off of Chromebooks and other school items as well as the collection of personal items to take home.
Pick-up/drop-off will be from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM in front of Rosemary Clarke Middle School. Current 6th-grade students are assigned Monday, May 18th; 7th-grade students are assigned Tuesday, May 19th; and 8th-grade students are assigned Wednesday, May 20th. Thank you.
