Hornet Pride: Celebrating Our Community and Looking Ahead!

Principal’s Message:

What a great start to the 26/27 school year here in Beatty! As the new principal, I am very excited to be a part of such a great school with rich traditions and strong values. Everything that was told to me about how amazing these students are and the strength of the community is all beyond what I could have hoped for. We are going to continue to build on these great traditions by improving our culture of learning. This includes challenging our students to grow and achieve, celebrate their success, and learn from setbacks. I know that with the help of this community our students can reach new heights of academic achievement and make Hornet Nation proud!

Family Engagement

On the evening of August 5th, staff welcomed the community for an open house to both buildings. This was an opportunity for families to meet the staff that would be teaching their children and see the classrooms where they would be learning. It was a great turnout and we hope to see more of our families continue to come out and support our school. Be on the lookout for future events where the school and community can collaborate.

Moments from September

Recent Highlights:

To begin the school year we kicked off our assessments with iReady for grades 1-10. The “iReady Inform” is an assessment taken on the computer three times per year. These assessments help teachers and families understand where a student is along their learning path in both reading and math. Using this data, teachers can better meet each student’s individual needs and help them grow to their potential. It is vital that students take this assessment as the challenge it is and do their absolute best. The next iReady assessment will be in December. The school will be offering incentives for grade levels that show the most growth from the August assessment.
