Dear Round Mountain Families,
The safety of our students is our highest priority. I am writing to inform you that the Middle/High School building was cleared this morning due to a possible propane leak.
Please be assured that all students are safe and accounted for. Parents and guardians are currently being notified of this incident.
Our staff acted immediately to ensure student safety. The propane supplier and maintenance personnel were notified, and the propane tanks have been shut off. During practice drills, your student learned that a building clearance or evacuation means students follow instructions to exit to a designated safe area for attendance.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will send another notification as soon as the building is cleared for re-entry. We ask that you please monitor the Nye County School District website or Facebook page for additional updates rather than calling the school, so that our phone lines remain open for emergency coordination.

NCSO Campus Visit Tomorrow (Wed., 3/25)
We’re excited to welcome the NCSO to campus this Wednesday! They’ll be working with our forensics class on a hands-on mock crime scene simulation—such a great learning opportunity for our students.
You may notice additional law enforcement presence, lights, and activity on campus during this time. Please don’t be alarmed—this is all part of the simulation.

Due to weather, the High School Girls Basketball State Send-Off time has changed.
The team will now be leaving the school at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Parents and community members are invited to line the streets as they head out to show their support.

If your bus pick-up stop is past Carvers, the bus will not be running that portion of the route this morning. The last pick-up location will be Carvers RV Park.
Please be patient as our bus driver safely navigates the route this morning. All students affected by this route change will have their attendance excused.
If you have any questions please call the school office.
Due to weather conditions, we will be on a two-hour delay today. This will allow time for snow plows to clear the roads and for snow removal at the school before we begin.
